Although today most of the traffic takes place on asphalt roads, or macadam roads, many people have to drive on ordinary dirt roads during their work. This is especially true for those who work in agriculture, or those who live in rural areas. And even soldiers on military exercises and wars have to move on muddy roads, meadows or arable fields.

Driving on field roads during the dry season is easy, but it is problematic in rainy weather. A vehicle in the mud very quickly creates indentations on the road in which water is retained, and when several vehicles pass through the same tracks, these wheel tracks become deeper and deeper, while movement is completely impossible.

This problem could be solved very quickly and cheaply by the use of a tractor with tracks pulled by a roller in the form of a double cone. This type of roller, twice as wide as the towing vehicle, should be wider on the rims, while it would have a smaller diameter in the middle.

Such a roller should have a large number of knives in the form of small pyramids along its length. During the movement of the vehicle, the weight of the roller would create small channels on its sides, while it would push the soft soil towards the middle and thus raise its level. In doing so, the knives on the roller would create small depressions in the ground through which water would flow from the middle of the road to the small channels that the roller created on its sides. Small hollows on the ground would also increase the surface area of the soil, which would speed up the drying of the soil.

A Polish road repaired in this way would dry and strengthen much faster, and traffic could be carried on it very quickly after rain, and after a roller like this has passed on the road.
