When mosquitoes attack, people usually defend themselves with various repellents. But if they are near swamps, it doesn’t help them much. To destroy a large number of mosquitoes, it is necessary to dust the wider area around the houses. However, even that does not help when the number of mosquitoes is too large. In such cases, only aerial dusting helps.

In temperate climates, mosquitoes are most often annoying, but not too dangerous. In the tropics, the danger is much greater. There, mosquitoes are the main carriers of various very dangerous diseases such as malaria. The only way the poor there can defend themselves against mosquitoes is to remove from the environment anything where mosquitoes where they can reproduce.These are various discarded glasses, bottles, cans, or any recesses where rainwater can be retained. And that’s all individuals can do for themselves. Everything above that is in the hands of the political authorities.

That could change soon.

Robots have appeared that are placed in fish farms where they record fish passing by them, looking for parasites that live on the skin of fish. When they spot them, they immediately destroy them with lasers. They can kill more very small pests in one second.

The same technology could be used to hunt mosquitoes, but also to hunt flies or wasps. The only problem is the size of these robots. They are very large for now, mostly because of the large batteries that are in them.

In order for such robots to be used to protect against mosquitoes, their size would have to be reduced to the size of a light bulb, and it would also be good if they could be placed on chandeliers instead of light bulbs. Another problem is price. In order to become cheap and thus acceptable to many, they would have to be mass-produced.

When these two problems are solved, the mosquito problem will be solved very well. One such robot in each room, and on the terrace or in the garden will completely eliminate mosquitoes as the biggest carriers of dangerous diseases. Provided that the pharmaceutical industry does not take countermeasures and buy and close all those companies that wish to develop such robots. Malaria drugs make great money, as do various pesticides.
